I have always been truly fond of that which is old, weathered, rusted or distressed. I search endlessly for old handwritten letters, paper, tickets, photographs, hotel bills, rusted metal, and aged or distressed wood. Some of these treasures I scan to help me create my digital collage work. Then, everything gets sorted into boxes for use in my material collage and assemblage. In every collage, I’m trying to tell a story, using transparency and the effects of time to bring that story to life. I’ve been working on a series of 10 collages which tell the story of a fictitious woman from birth to death. This two person show was held in October 2008 at The Loading Dock Gallery in Lowell, MA.
